Prior to employment or residency, as applicable, and every 5 years thereafter, all child care staff, substitutes, other employees, and volunteers who may be alone with children or are included in staff to child ratios, and household members age 10 years or older, shall submit for a background record check using NH Connections.
REPEAT CITATION PREVIOUSLY CITED ON SEPTEMBER 6, 2023. The licensing coordinator’s review of department records revealed Staff A, who began working at the program on October 17, 2023, did not submit for a background record check prior to employment. This constitutes a repeat citation and failure to comply with one approved Directed Corrective Action Plan (DCAP) regarding submission of background record checks for staff. Corrective action: The staff was dismissed same day and fingerprinted that day and submitted a BCR in NH connections. The staff had been fingerprinted and a background check done before hire on 10/16/23 the BCR never processed online. Support tickets where sent to remedy the situation. going forward all onboarding staff will be guided in this process. better follow up with support tickets on my end will also be conducted to avoid error in electronic paperwork.
