Child care staff shall ensure that potentially harmful items, including but not limited to matches, lighters, chemicals, materials labeled “harmful if swallowed,” flammable materials, sharp objects, and staffs’ personal belongings are locked or inaccessible to children.
REPEAT CITATION PREVIOUSLY CITED ON SEPTEMBER 11, 2025. The licensing coordinator observed staff belongings accessible to children on a counter 24 inches from the floor in the Pre-K Classroom. Staff immediately moved their belongings to a location inaccessible to the children. This constitutes the first repeat citation and failure to comply with one approved corrective action plan regarding staff belongings being inaccessible to children. Corrective action: Staff removed bag from the counter and placed it out of reach of the children. A work order was placed for our facilitates dept to add a hook for teachers bags to be hung up in the classroom. Until a hook is put up, the teachers will place their belongings in a locked cabinet or in a cabinet above the counter that the children can't reach.
