The program shall obtain the following documents from the parents or guardians of each child with a food allergy or other allergy, which results in a serious reaction: A written care plan that includes instructions regarding food(s) or other allergens to which the child is allergic and steps for child care staff to take to avoid the allergens.
The licensing coordinator was not able to review one child’s written allergy care plan or treatment plan because they were not on file at the program. Corrective action: The missing written allergy care plan has been added to the child's file. Staff have been reminded to check that all required paperwork, including any allergy care plans, is complete before a child starts the program.
