During the visit, it was observed that three children were missing a current physical; while visit summaries were on file, the physicals were not. In addition, one child with (REDACTED) did not have a consent form for medication administration.
During the visit, it was observed that the educator currently has a child with (REDACTED); however, a consent form for the child’s inhaler was not on file. Additionally, the educator did not have an individual healthcare plan for the child, and the inhaler was not present.

The Educator did not have the required allergy list posted.
The gate/barrier was not secured at the bottom of the stairs in the living room. There were children under three present.
Although the iron pellet stove in the living room it is not used for heating purposes, it was accessible and was not barricaded two feet from the stove or sufficiently padded to prevent a child from injury if the child falls against it.
There were mouse traps and droppings within reach of children in the basement exit indicating that there were vermin in the area. Safe and effective means of eliminating vermin must be provided.

The licensor arrived for an unannounced visit and found the educator was caring for 10 children without an assistant. She stated that her husband, who is her primary assistant, is also a police officer and was called in for an emergency. The educator called her daughter, who is an EEC approved assistant, to come to the program. The licensor stayed until the assistant arrived, about 30 minutes later.

The stairs were accessible with children under the age of 3 present.
The educator recently renovated her kitchen and has not reinstalled child safety locks. Kitchen drawers were accessible and contained hazards such as: cords longer than 6”, cleaning products, batteries, scissors.
This renewal - enhanced monitoring visit inspection recorded no violations or advisories.

Blankets and linens were stored touching on the rest cots which is not considered sanitary.
The table and high chairs were not washed and disinfected before lunch was served as required.
