Educator's mother is often present in the home during childcare hours and as such is a person regularly on the premises. However, Educator has not listed her mother as such and therefor a BRC has never been completed. Licensor informed Educator that she is required to log onto her portal and submit a Change of Household transaction as soon as possible, so that the BRC process can be completed for her mother.
Persons on Premises
Tooth brushing - Toothbrush Storage
Outdoor Playspace - Hazards
The children's toothbrushes are stored in a way that they could easily touch each other.
Licensor observed peeling paint on the posts of the outdoor fence.
Child Guidance
Space (indoor / outdoor hazards) - 1
The Child Guidance section in the Parent Handbook is blank. Educator needs to add this information. For behavior management, Educator stated she uses positive communication and has the children take space.
Licensor inspected all of the licensed, indoor space during the progress visit, as well as the outdoor playspace. The only hazard was observed in the playroom. There were disinfectant wipes that were accessible to the children.
Licensor inspected all of the licensed, insoor space during the progress visit, as well as the outdoor playspace. The only indoor hazard that was observed was in the diningroom. There were 2 outlets that were not covered. In the outdoor space, there was a trampoline that needs to be made inaccessible (ladder needs to be removed during childcare hours). There is also a playset that is on the property but is not approved for childcare use. Inside the children’s fenced in area outside, there was a plastic “Simplay 3” structure that is over 18 inches off the ground and does not have a fall zone. A fallzone needs to be added or this piece of equipment needs to be removed.
Emergency Evacuation Logs
Licensor randomly reviewed 3 of the children's records. All 3 were overdue for lead testing, and 1 of the records also had a overdue physical. Please review all of the children's records and ensure they are all complete and up to date.
Progress Reports
Childrens Records - R Apr 2025
Emergency Preparedness - R Apr 2025
Space (indoor / outdoor hazards) - 1
There are 2 children who are overdue for a progress report.
There is an emergency preparedness plan in the parent handbook. However, Educator needs to add an alternate location, off of the property, to meet in the event that the neighborhood needs to be evacuated.
The Evacuation Log is up to date. The most recent fire drill took place on 10/31/23. However, Educator needs to alternate the exits used for the drills more often. The same exit has been used for the last 5 months.
This follow-up visit inspection recorded no violations or advisories.
