Indoor Hazards
It was observed that there was access in one of the kitchen drawers, to small plastic bags, foil paper and parchment paper rolls with sharp edges. It was observed that within the diapering table there was access to plastic bags from diapers, disinfectant wipes, Vaseline, and to medication.

Swimming Pools/Water Safety
Children's files were reviewed. One file had an incomplete emergency card. One file needed an updated medication administration parent consent form, and one file needed general permission to be updated giving permission to take child off premises.
The educator has installed an above ground pool. The pool is within the outdoor play area; the pool does not measure 4 feet tall and requires a suitable barrier to prevent access to the pool. Educator will be required to submit photos of installed barrier and setup of yard.
First aid kit did not have emergency cards with parent permission signed.
Three children did not have current progress reports. Reviewed frequency of progress reports for children under 15 months it is to be every 3 months.

Children’s records were reviewed. It was observed that one file did not have an up to date physical and did not have an individualized health care plan for allergy. Two files did not have completed general permissions to indicate where children are taken when off premises.
It was observed that an infant was placed to nap in a separate room. The educator was supervising the infant however, the door to the room was completely closed. Door must always be left ajar.
Educator has not documented progress reports, two children are past due for a progress report. Discussed with the educator frequency of progress reports.
Outdoor space was observed to have access to large tree branches, there were large wooden boards leaning against the side of two areas within the outdoor space. Educator indicated they are still completing work on her backyard fence and will not be able to utilize her yard. Educator will need to have an alternative play area to take the children. Condition will be placed on educator’s license.

Educator would like her backyard to be approved for use. It was observed that there were multiple branches piled up in the fire pit. There was access to a small gasoline gallon container. Outdoor space materials were not yet set up.
