922 KAR 2:280. Section 3. Implementation and Enforcement.
General: Based on interview and review of documentation, a staff member (DOH: 08/25/25) did not have an eligible determination status in the Kentucky National Background Check Service (KARES) system. The determination status was “In Process”. The staff member was present during the inspection but did leave the child care center after the staff in charge was notified by the surveyor that KARES has to be completed, and the employee must be determined eligible before starting to work with children. The staff in charge stated that this employee did not work alone with children.
