EEC observed the following potentially hazardous items, at the time of the visit: the gate connecting the {REDACTED} classrooms had a hole in it. The cords on the upstairs blinds were in reach of children. Padding was not positioned under indoor climbing structures located on the first floor. Chipped paint was visible behind the downstairs door leading to the second floor. The door connecting the space to the home was open and unlocked on the ground floor. Trash receptacles were not covered.

The upstairs {REDACTED} attendance did not document the sign in and out times for enrolled children. Additionally, 10 children were documented onto the attendance, but 9 children were present at the time of the visit.
At the time of the visit, EEC observed stacks of paper and toys stored on potentially tippable equipment. Additionally, Duplo blocks were stored in a cracked tote / tupperware.
Plastic climbing equipment (a fisher price slide and bike ramp) were positioned on top of concrete surfacing. Please remove. A gas grille was stored on the path leading to the backyard playground; please remove. Additionally, the program does not have a barrier between the playground and the pond that abuts the property. Please secure a barrier and / or develop a supervision plan for transitioning children to the backyard playground.
This change of space visit inspection recorded no violations or advisories.
BRC
Several of the plastic playhouses located within the outdoor space were in disrepair (doors coming off). Additionally, there was a broken planter on the playground. Several ladders and pieces of wood were also stored on the path to the playground.

The indoor space was cluttered with cleaning supplies distributed over the counters and a mop stored in the sink. Additionally, child back packs were placed on the floor and sand from the sand table was on the floor creating a potential hazard.
Rest materials clean/good repair/individually marked, stored appropriately
At the time of the visit, a set of cubbies and a set of low bookshelves were determined to be tippable. Additionally, in the upstairs classroom, curriculum items were stacked too high and posed a falling risk. Lastly, an electrical cord attached to a decoration was longer than 6 inches and within reach of children.
Equipment is clean, safe, secured, and poses no hazard.
Each child in care had an assigned sleeping bag, however, the Program Director / Licensee did not provide a designated nap mat for each child as required by EEC regulations.

At the time of the visit, the play areas located in the lunch room and upstairs classroom were not clearly defined for child use. Please organize play areas into clearly defined centers that reflect the desired curriculum and that are developmentally appropriate for the enrolled age groups.
At the time of the visit, EEC observed an excessive amount of supplies stored on the counter tops and shelving throughout the lunch room and upstairs classroom. Please ensure that surfaces are free of clutter.
EEC observed the following hazards during a health and safety inspection of the playground: the door of the play house was splintered and the paint peeling; the bottom left corner of the playhouse was splintered and the paint peeling; a glass window and electrical pole / cord leaned against the outside wall of the facility in an outdoor area accessible to children. The children and educators must walk through this area in order to enter the playground space.
