922 KAR 2:120. Section 2. Child Care Services.
General: Based on observation, at approximately 9:23 a.m., the surveyor entered the outside door of the child care center to a small vestibule. The inside door to the child care center was locked so the surveyor rang the doorbell. A three-year-old child, without supervision, ran down the hallway from the bathroom to the front door and let the surveyor inside. He then ran back down the hallway to the bathroom. The surveyor went to a nearby classroom, the Threes and Fours Classroom, and told the staff member someone needed to supervise the child. The staff member was working alone and unable to leave her classroom. The child was out of sight in the bathroom at that point in time. While talking to the staff member with the classroom gate open, a second child ran out of her classroom and down the hallway to the bathroom. Shortly after, the staff in charge appeared and maintained supervision of both children until they were returned to the Three's and Four's Classroom. It was unknown the exact amount of time the child was alone without supervision. Staffing Requirements In Compliance
