The Office of Child Care Licensing received a complaint on January 12, 2024, regarding illegal drugs and firearms bring present in the home which were discovered due to a search warrant being executed during child care hours. An investigation was conducted on January 12, 2024. This complaint is substantiated because according to the Dover Police Department s news article which states a search warrant was executed January 11, 2024, at 12:20 p.m., Detectives located 93.1 grams of cocaine, 26.4 grams of crack, 302 bags of heroin, 2 handguns, and $32,262. Additional concerns noted were the licensee did not notify OCCL of her arrest. OCCL issued a suspension letter for the facility effective January 12, 2024. Non-compliances Cited: Reg #13 Ensure illegal drugs, substances, and controlled substances are not in the home. This was corrected because OCCL suspended the license. Reg #16 Ensure OCCL is notified within one business day after new charges or arrest of the licensee. This was corrected because OCCL suspended the license. Reg #27 Ensure firearms and ammunition in the home are stored safely in areas out of the reach of children. This was corrected because OCCL suspended the license.

Ensure home furnishings are in a safe condition. The leather chair is peeling and the foam is exposed. Repair or remove the chair. Ensure walls are cleanable and in good repair. Repair the holes in the drywall and the peeled paint on the kitchen door. Repair the safety gate at the base of the stairs. Discontinue the use of plug-in air fresheners. This was corrected when the plug-ins were removed.
