The Office of Child Care and Licensing received a complaint on April 24, 2024, regarding not following the suspension policy and open-door policy in the parent handbook, and staff not being respectful. An investigation was conducted on May 1, 2024. There is no evidence to substantiate not following the suspension policy because the handbook states in cases when a child becomes physical with other classmates or staff, the parent will be called and notified of the incident and the staff stated it was Person #1 s decision to pick up the child when the notification was made. Also, when the child is crying and is inconsolable, the parent may be called to remove the child from the facility. There is no evidence to substantiate the allegation of not following their open-door policy because staff stated it took them a little longer to get to the door because they were trying to calm down the child. There is no evidence to substantiate staff not being respectful because staff denied this.
