Programs shall comply with approved corrective action plans and corrective action plans issued in accordance with (i) and (j) above.

The program failed to comply with an approved corrective action plan for citation He-C 4002.33(a)(1), as noted herein. Corrective action: We recognize the oversight and are fully committed to promptly addressing any outstanding requirements before the deadline passes. Going forward, we will take immediate action to ensure complete compliance with rule He-C 4002.33(a)(1) as written in our updated corrective action plan. Regulatory compliance is a top priority of ours, and we will diligently work to rectify any areas requiring improvement.

He-C 4002.06(m) · Correction status not published

All center directors, agency administrators, site coordinators, or site directors, and all other child care staff who are responsible for the supervision of children, or who are necessary for the staff to child ratios, shall keep on file documentation of completion of a minimum of 6 hours of professional development, which shall be completed in accordance with the following: (1)  Within 90 days of the first date of employment; (2) Within 2 weeks for programs operating 3 months of the year or less; or (3) By providing documentation of previous completion.

The licensing coordinator’s review of five staff files revealed that one staff employed by the program for more than 90 days had not completed the required health and safety trainings. A previous corrective action plan submitted by the program following a monitoring visit on September 14, 2022, stated, in part, “Moving forward we will ensure that all staff complete the required Health and Safety trainings within 90 days of hire”. Corrective action: We've implemented a new system to track any missing paperwork among team members. Should a team member fail to complete the required Health and Safety trainings within the allotted 90 days, they will be temporarily removed from the schedule until the trainings have been completed. The mentioned employee has fulfilled all necessary trainings.

He-C 4002.33(a) · Correction status not published

The only exceptions to He-C 4002.33(f) shall be: (1) Assistant teachers, associate teachers, group leaders, assistant group leaders, family child care workers, and family child care assistants who work fewer than 25 hours per week year round, or more than 25 hours per week during school vacations, or both, for the same licensee shall: a. Obtain 12 hours of professional development  within their first 12 months of hire, and annually thereafter; and b. Of the 12 hours, a minimum of three hours shall be in any of the health and safety areas listed in He-C 4002.33(b)(2)-(13), and the remaining hours shall be in any areas in (j) below; (2) Child care staff attending high school or college full time shall obtain 3 hours of professional development in health and safety areas listed in He-C 4002.33(b)(2)-(13) annually; (3) Full time college attendance in (2) shall mean enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester; and (4) Substitutes, as defined in He-C 4002.01(bi).
