Space (indoor / outdoor hazards)
The program was not within its licensed capacity at the time of the visit. There were 7 children present with the educator and there was no other qualified staff member present. None of the children were of school age.
The water heater wires were accessible in the exit path to the bulk head. A wood play kitchen and white stacked wood storage blocks were tippable and were not secured. The small climbing structure and slide did not have required safe ground surface and fall zone and needed to be removed from the classroom.
The back exit from the basement was not clear and accessible for emergency exit. There was a changing table, a port a crib, and miscellaneous equipment in the path to the bulkhead.

There were 4 water stained ceiling tiles that were in need of replacement in the basement. The two wooden toy chests in the space did not have safety latches to prevent them closing on a child. The large worm toy in the basement space could be used for climbing and there was not an adequate and safe fall zone. The cabinets in the kitchen island were not secured and were accessible to the children passing through to the bathroom. There were glass and miscellaneous items in the cabinets.

Provider stated only the basement space was currently being used as child care space. Please submit documentation indicating there is at least 35 square feet per child for the requested capacity of 8(two of which are school age)
Written progress reports were not completed and provided to parents at least every 6 months for toddlers and preschool age children and every 3 months for infants as required. The provider had only completed progress reports annually.
Adequate lighting
Licensor observed room where 5 children were napping room did not have adequate lighting to properly be able to visually supervise the children; room was too dark.

The toys and play equipment were cluttered in deep bins and chests and were not visibly arranged to promote easy and independent access by the children.
The provider was storing toys and materials in the port a cribs used for children.
There were no paper or individual towels for handwashing in the bathroom.
The water was too hot in the bathroom.
There was a slide climber taller than 18 inches on grass in the outdoor play area. Grass is not adequate for safe fall zone.
The deck stairs were accessible to the designated outdoor play area.
