When the licensor arrived, five children were playing outside while the educator was inside with the infant in care. One of the children, a 7-year-old, was playing in the yard while the other four children were playing in a water table on the back of the deck. Discussed the 7-year-old being able to be outdoors using indirect supervision with written permission from the parent. The educator must directly supervise the other children outdoors. Likewise, the educator cannot leave the infant inside alone to be outdoors with the older children. Discussed with the educator how observing children through the kitchen window was not considered appropriate outdoor supervision according to the EEC regulations.
