On July 8, 2023, a complaint was called into the Child Abuse and Neglect Report Line and accepted for investigation by the Institutional Abuse Unit (IAU). The Office of Child Care Licensing (OCCL) received the complaint on July 10, 2023, and accepted it for investigation regarding improper discipline. OCCL was informed on September 13, 2023, the IAU investigation was completed and was substantiated based on child interviews, medical records, and an investigation by the Wilmington Police Department (WPD). As a result of these findings, OCCL is substantiating this complaint for improper discipline resulting in an injury. Staff #1 is no longer permitted to be present at the facility and employment was terminated effective August 28, 2023.
