A GUIDANCE

Guidance being used by staff in the Preschool Classroom is not positive and does not include redirection and clear limits to encourage the child's ability to become self-disciplined. The center will call parents to pick up the children for misbehaving instead of redirecting the children to do something else so they can stop the behaviors from happening. On 5/2/24 the centers FOCUS consultant completed a thorough visit at the center and discussed with the Director and Educators positive ways to redirect children who have challenging behaviors. All foods prepared by the center will conform to the guidelines from United States department of agriculture’s (USDA’s) child and adult care food program (CACFP) for foods, meal patterns and serving sizes. During a follow- up visit, it was found that the center has been serving foods that do not follow CACFP. On 4/15/24 Director ensured the parents will provide both breakfast and lunch for their child going forward. On 4/15/24 Director states she has revised the whole parent handbook to ensure that all of the information about the food process is explained. The children in the Preschool Classroom during a follow-up inspection on 4/12/24 was/were left unattended when the educators in the classroom were walking in and out of the classroom to tend to other things going on at the center.
