All medication shall be: (1) Inaccessible to children; (2) Stored at the temperature and conditions recommended by the manufacturer or as directed on the prescription label; (3) Stored in a secondary container separate from food if in a refrigerator; and (4) Labeled with the child’s name to ensure correct identification of each child’s medication.

The licensing coordinator observed a small storage bag containing a bottle of Amoxicillin that belonged to an enrolled child in an unlocked refrigerator in the Carrots classroom. The refrigerator was located on the floor, therefore making it accessible to the children. Program staff immediately moved the medication to a refrigerator that was inaccessible to the children. Corrective action: A new working lock has been placed on the refrigerator June 23, 2025. Staff have been reminded by the Director of the rule pertaining to refrigerated medication, 6/18/2025.
