Three staff present in the program stated that they were unsure of how many children were present at the time of the visit. Corrective action: Now and in the future: All staff have been reminded of the requirement to know the number of children in their care at all times and to maintain accurate attendance and headcounts throughout the day. The manager will provide additional training on active supervision and accountability procedures and conduct regular monitoring to ensure staff can immediately account for all children present in the program, especially as summer approaches.

The program shall have a record of daily staff attendance, including the staff’s full name, scheduled work hours, their position as identified under He-C 4002.34, and their arrival and departure times at the program and in each room or group throughout the day, as applicable, recorded in real time by the staff.

The licensing coordinator's review of the daily attendance revealed that there were three staff present and only one staff signed into the program's attendance record. Corrective action: Now and in the future: Each day, all staff will sign in and out of the attendance as required by NH Child Care Licensing. From now on, the manager and administrative assistant will review all attendance paperwork weekly and conduct audits to ensure all required forms and statements are complete and compliant with He-C 4002.08(c).
