The licensing coordinator's review of the annual fire drill log revealed that the program did not conduct a fire drill in September of 2024. Staff A confirmed that there had not been a drill completed with the children since returning from summer break. Corrective action: We will be conducting fire drills the first Tuesday of every month. This is the day that each staff are present and the majority of the enrolled children. We will alternate practicing in the morning and in the afternoon. Our lead teacher Erin Moore has taken the responsibility of keeping track of these dates each month. We sat down as a staff to make a checklist and plan for the drills. The dates are logged in our phone calendars.
This revision visit inspection recorded no violations or advisories.
A review of ten children's files revealed that nine files did not contain documentation of the most recent version of the “Child Care Registration and Emergency Information” (April 2022) form, or its equivalent, as they did not contain the current licensing statement for parents/guardians. Corrective action: I printed out the new registration form for each child in the program who did not have it on file and parents filled it out and signed it. I will be checking the Licensing website and reading emails to make sure I am up to date on new forms and requirements.
