The home was missing a carbon monoxide detector in the basement.
The home was missing a smoke detector in the basement.
The water temperature was reading at 126.7 degrees F. The water temperature must be adjusted to not exceed 120 degrees F.
One of the sides of the backyard needs to be protected with a barrier that is at least four feet high.
The licensor advised the educator to secure all electrical cords in the living room and cover outlets in the playroom and dining room to prevent hazards and keep them out of children’s reach.
The licensor observed two uncovered heating radiators and discussed the need to secure all heating radiators in the living room, dining room, playroom, bathroom, and kitchen.
Licensor observed two slides: a blue plastic slide under 18 inches and an orange-and-gray plastic slide over 18 inches. The licensor reminded the applicant that slides over 18 inches require a six-foot fall zone and at least nine inches of mulch, sand, or rubber mulch to prevent injuries.
The applicant resides in a second-floor apartment. The licensor observed stairs located outside the program and a back deck with openings wider than 3 ½ inches between balusters. The licensor discussed the need to barricade any openings greater than 3 ½ inches.
The applicant has sufficient play space; however, the area must be barricaded since it is near a busy road. The applicant stated she will use the side yard for now and move the outdoor play space to the back of the house once it is fully fixed.
