The employee had a break in employment exceeding 90 days, she was apparently background screened when she was employed with this provider in 2021. Licensing specialist also observed the form 5131 dated 2021 for this employee. The provider immediately reinitiated the BGS for the employee at time of inspection, and now the results are in process. Provider was given 10 days to be in compliance. TA: An operator, substitute, employee, volunteer and all household members must be re-screened as outlined in sections 402.313 and 402.3131, F.S., following a break in operation/employment in the child care industry or from residing in the home, that exceeds 90 days. Child care personnel/individual with a break in service that exceeds 90 days are considered unscreened child care personnel/individuals until completion of re-screening. These child care personnel/individuals shall not have unsupervised contact with children in care.
