Supervision of Children The FCCP and/or staff shall ensure visual supervision of children except as allowed in rules 6.2.4.1 - 6.2.4.4 of these regulations.
As I drove up to the home, I observed Fatima in a garden next to the garage. When she observed me in the driveway she entered the door at the back of the garage and came to the door at the front of the garage and greeted me. When asked she stated she did have children in care. When I entered the home I observed six(6) children sitting at a table eating lunch. There were no adults present in the space. The ages of the children present were three(3) to five(5) years old. Regulations require that when children are eating the provider is positioned to allow for visual supervision and is able to immediately physically respond in a choking incident. While the provider was outside she was not able to hear, see or physically respond in the case of an emergency. This is a serious violation.
