Prior to employment or residency, as applicable, and every 5 years thereafter, all child care staff, substitutes, other employees, and volunteers who may be alone with children or are included in staff to child ratios, and household members age 10 years or older, shall submit for a background record check using NH Connections.
The licensing coordinator's review of department records revealed that one staff member's previous background record check expired March 7, 2024 and the staff member worked in the program for one week prior to being determined eligible by the Unit. Corrective action: The staff has completed the Background Record Check and been deemed eligible to work in a childcare setting. In the future all staff will complete the Background Record Check process prior to expiration.
