Any contaminated, expired, or discontinued medication, whether prescription or over-the-counter, and topical substances shall be returned to the child’s parents or, if belonging to the program, disposed of properly by authorized staff.
THIS IS A REPEAT CITATION PREVIOUSLY CITED ON MAY 6, 2022. The licensing coordinator observed two Aquaphor lotions that expired July 2022 and October 2022 in the Busy Beavers classroom and a VapoRub lotion that expired January 2025 in the Cuddly Cubs classroom that were not disposed of properly by authorized staff or returned to the parents or guardians. This constitutes one repeat citation and failure to comply with one approved corrective action plan regarding disposing of medications and/or creams. Corrective action: All expired items were thrown away immediately and parents were notified at pick up what was discarded Staff asked for a form to be created to track medication expirations. A form is now in each classroom. A follow up will be conducted after the monthly fire drill is completed.
