Any contaminated, expired, or discontinued medication, whether prescription or over-the-counter, and topical substances shall be returned to the child’s parents or guardians whenever possible or, if belonging to the program, disposed of properly by authorized staff.
The licensing coordinator observed a Benadryl that expired on September 2025, which was not returned to the child's parents/guardian or disposed of by authorized staff. Corrective action: A member of Leadership will do a monthly health and safety check of each classroom. This includes their emergency bags and medication. If a medication is expiring, a member of Leadership will remove the medication and will reach out to the family to dispose of/bring a new medication.
