The program shall maintain daily child attendance records, in either paper or electronic format, including the child’s full name, date of birth, and their arrival and departure times in the program and each room or group throughout the day, as applicable, recorded in real time by staff or parents.
The licensing coordinator’s review of the daily child and staff attendance records revealed that, in the Infant Classroom, three children signed in were not present and one staff present was not signed in, in the Transitional Ones Classroom, one child signed in was not present, and in the Preschool Classroom, one child present was not signed in. Corrective action: Because the children transition classrooms in the morning as teachers arrive staff get busy and neglect signing them into/out of the room. We will continue to work with staff to ensure that children are signed into/out of classrooms as they transition to another room. Frequent reminders and checks by administration will ensure that children are signed in and out with each transition.
