Any contaminated, expired, or discontinued medication, whether prescription or over-the-counter, and topical substances shall be returned to the child’s parents or, if belonging to the program, disposed of properly by authorized staff.
The licensing coordinator observed two Aquaphor lotions, both expired 2/2025, in the bathroom between the Infant Two and the Toddlers classrooms, and a Desitin that expired 6/2023 in the Preschool classroom that were not disposed of properly by an authorized staff or returned to the child's parents or guardians. Corrective action: Medication boxes, areas of diaper creams, and other lotions are to contain the following spreadsheet. These spreadsheets are to be filled out upon the arrival of each new item. These areas are to be checked weekly for accuracy. These areas are also to be checked Monthly by a member of management as a form of a double check. This item has also been added to the weekly cleaning list of the classroom to be initaled by the teacher performing the check.
