All medications belonging to child care staff shall be stored separate from children’s medications in a locked area, or otherwise inaccessible to children.
The licensing coordinator observed a staff epi-pen in the same bin as the children's medications. Corrective action: All medications are stored in the first aide cabinet. When the licensing coordinator pointed out to us that the staff's epi-pen was in with the children's we moved it 1 inch out of bin to a separate spot on the shelf. and labeled it STAFF. We also labeled the other bin children's. From now on staff medication will still be stored in the first aide cabinet 'but separate from children's.
