REPEAT CITATION PREVIOUSLY CORRECTED AT VISIT ON SEPTEMBER 18, 2024. The licensing coordinator observed a can of disinfecting spray on the children's cubbies in the Hurricanes classroom, which was accessible to children. The staff promptly removed the disinfectant and stored it on the cleaning shelf, out of children's reach. This rule was previously cited under He-C 4002.23(c) regarding accessible cleaning supplies. Corrective action: Corrective Action Plan summary After the licensing visit, I, the Director, reviewed licensing Rules and regulations He-C 4002.22(b) with the staff in the Hurricane Classroom. The can in question was a sanitiser used to spray down nap mats after use. The teacher was spraying the mats before a student's arrival. She set the spray can down on the cubby to welcome the child and then walked away. We decided that after spraying mats, she must remember to place the can in the mat shelf directly above the cubbies every time!. I will post a sign to remind staff to place cleaners on the out of reach shelf. We will also review each of the cited regulations at our next staff meeting and discuss other ways to ensure that we are always in compliance.
