Outdoor Space
Hazards were found in the outdoor space. One fence pole contains protruding screws and other metals pieces, the bottom of the gate that connects the toddler and preschool playgrounds is rusty and sharp, the base of the umbrella stand is broken, sand is compressed in the fall zones around the climbing structure in the preschool playground, and there is an inadequate depth of wood chips under and around the dome climbers in the toddler and preschool playgrounds. In addition, it was observed that children participate in water play in the driveway next to the road and parking area and the area is not fenced in.

During a review of consent for administered medications, it was found that one child's parental consent for Benadryl and an EpiPen were expired.
One classroom did not have accurate attendance, and an infant who was transitioning to the program was not recorded on BrightWheel or on a written attendance form.

Staff reported that fire drills are not conducted monthly, and two drills were not recorded on the log. Drills must be held monthly during different times of the program day, and must use alternative exits. The educator must document the date, time, exit route used, number of children evacuated and effectiveness of each drill.
The children's bathroom on the lower level contained a strong smell of urine. The bathrooms must be cleaned and disinfected at least daily. The licensee must ensure that equipment, materials, items or surfaces (including floors and walls) are washed with soap and water and disinfected according to the cleaning and disinfecting policy to maintain a sanitary environment.
