Licensor discussed with provider the need for a background record check on anyone in the household over 15 years old. Licensee will be adding another family member through a change of household transaction.
Educator has three cats living in the home. One of the cat litter boxes is covered but accessible to children in the bathroom. Cat food dishes and water were accessible to children in the corner of the kitchen. For sanitary reasons, discussed moving the box/food and water to the pantry which has a partially closed door or to another unlicensed space.
1. Observed the educator's purse accessible to children on the couch in the living room. The educator moved the purse during the visit. 2. Clutter with various hazards observed on the bathroom counter. 3. Knife block accessible on the kitchen counter. Medications for the family on the kitchen counter as well. 4. Plastic bin with various cords and cables accessible on the floor in the kitchen/dining area.

Digital thermometer in the refrigerator read 47 degrees. Refrigerator temperature must be between 32 and 40 degrees.
Back deck is used with the children. 1. Large fish tank on the deck was filled to the brim with cloudy standing water. 2. Observed WD 40 spray and Off bug spray accessible on the deck. 3. Shed in the yard with tools, a lawn mower, gas can, etc. had open doors with no lock. 4. Above ground pool is not used with the children. Attached gate at the top of the deck stairs leading into the pool was not locked.
This investigation inspection recorded no violations or advisories.
