An educator was observed sitting on a playground bench, using their cell phone and not actively supervising the children.
The following was observed in the Toddler 1 classroom: * A broken metal handle for large cabinet was hanging creating a risk of injury to a child * The flooring outside the toddler 2 classroom was lifting causing a tripping hazard.
This change of space visit inspection recorded no violations or advisories.
Through an interview with infant staff, it was learned the method of warming infant bottles is to heat up the water in the microwave and place the container on the counter to warm the bottle.

During review of emergency medications, a bottle of [REDACTED]that recently expired in May of 2022 was found. The program stated the parent was aware and bringing in a new one when they bring in an [REDACTED]that is expiring at the end of this month.

Through a review of emergency medication, it was noted that an [REDACTED]had expired on 9/2719, therefore doctor consent to administer the medication was not present at the program.

Diapering and Toileting for children under 2.9
The Licesning Specialist observed an toddler grouping of 8 children with two teachers enter the toddler playground. One of the toddler teachers left this area, and went back indoors. It was later learned this Educator did so, because the emeregency medication bag was forgotten indoors. Although there was other groupings of children with their respective teachers on the playground during this occurrence, the Educators of this classroom did not maintain staff/child ratios when the 2nd teacher went back indoors.
Children in the infant one classroom were observed banging on the cubicle wall and the wall was shaking, and found to be unsecured. Although the cubicle wall is on wheels, when pushed on, the wheels are seen to loose contact with the floor and the wall becomes tippable.
The following hazards were seen in the outdoor space: 1) One little tyke basketball set was found to be unsecured in the toddler playground 2) Parts to what an Educator reported to the Licensing Specialist as an not assembled little tyke play house was laying within the fall zone of a climbing structure in the toddler playground. 3) A mailbox with exposed screws was laying on the ground of the preschool playground 4) The impact absorbing material did not measure 9 inches around the slide climbing structure that was being used by children on the day of the visit. 5) A dramatic play kitchen set was found unsecured in the preschool playground
The Educators in the [REDACTED] classroom report that they do not use a barrier between the child and the changing surface(the floor) as they indicated that they diaper children standing up.
