The following hazards were observed at this visit: 1.) A candle was lit that could create a fire hazard. 2.) A lighter was placed in an area accessible to the day care children. 3.) A hammer was located on the livingroom table accessible to the day care children. 4.) Cleaning materials were located on the kitchen floor accessible to the day care children. Educators must ensure that all hazardous objects, including but not limited to matches, lighters, toxic materials, sharp objects, plastic bags and purses are locked or inaccessible to children.

The educator was not following safe sleep practices. The educator stated that she sleeps the infant in her arms. All infants must nap in an individual crib, portacrib, playpen or bassinet; The educator must do the following: 1.) Follow proper safe sleep practices with infants immediately. 2) Sign Pledge Letter 3.) Provide safe sleep letter to all of the parents with infants to sign and 3.) Attend a face to face safe sleep training provided by EEC. This is the second citation on safe sleep.
