The educator's licensed capacity is eight children, two of which must be school-aged. Six children were present on the day of the visit, with the educator and the assistant. However, the educator's attendance records indicated the following: 1) A seventh child was scheduled for that (REDACTED) on the attendance. This child was not school-aged. 2) The educator reported that another child who is enrolled attends school during vacation weeks only; however, they are four years old. The educator admitted that there were days when more than six children were present, none of whom were school-age. The educator reported that no school-aged children are currently enrolled in the program.

There was no secured gate around the pellet stove and hearth which was accessible in the living room.
The provider was over enrolled. There were 9 children(4 were School age) present with the provider. In addition, the attendance records indicated over enrollment on several other days during the summer.
There was no current written progress report in one of the two children's records reviewed.

Safe Sleep
The provider did not adequately supervise and was not on the same floor level as one child in her care. During the visit, a child age 3 was upstairs with the provider's 17 year old daughter while the provider was downstairs with the other children.
Carbon detectors were not up and working on each floor level of the home.
There was no documentation of any practice evacuation drills available. This issue has been cited on several other visits.
There were baskets of laundry in the bathroom in front of the sink and on the dining room table while children were present. The laundry and baskets were blocking the bathroom sink. There also was an electric razor on the sink accessible.
There was not an adequate amount of equipment and materials in the living room for the children. The school age children were playing on electronics and there was one set of foam blocks in the living room for the other children upon the licensor's arrival.
Upon the licensor's arrival there was an 11 month old infant in the port a crib. The infant was awake however, there was a blanket in the port a crib, and a bottle. There was no sheet on the mattress.
Two children were missing proof of lead screenings.
The vaccination records were current for the two dogs. The Educator did not have proof of vaccinations for the one cat. Please send proof of vaccinations for the cat.
Water Temperature
The refrigerator temperature was 45 degrees. Discussed the temperature must be between 32 and 40 degrees.
The water temperature in the bathroom exceeded 120 degrees. Discussed the temperature must be less than 120 degrees.

There were not enough accessible play materials in the licensed space for the number and ages of children present. The Educator stated all play materials are in the basement and she rotates them in throughout the day. Discussed making sure there are a variety of play materials accessible to the children at all times.
CPR/First Aid - R Apr 2025
CPR expires 8/12/2021. First Aid expired 7/15/2021. The Educator reported that she has a renewal class scheduled for 7/28/2021. Please send proof of current certification.
This monitoring outside differential licensing cycle visit inspection recorded no violations or advisories.
