During the time of the inspection, the Licensing Specialist observed that the providers First Aid and CPR on file expired in 12/22. The Licensing Specialist also observed that the substitute does not have pediatric CPR and first aid. According to the family daycare home handbook 5.1 Training Required Prior to Licensure/Caring for Children 5.1.1 Operators and Substitutes Prior to licensure and prior to caring for children, all home operators, substitutes for the operator, and substitutes working more than 40 hours per month on average over a 6-month period must: C. Have certificate(s) of course completion for pediatric cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) procedures and first aid training, which must be current and valid at all times. Certificates of course completion are valid based on the time frames established by each first aid and CPR training program, not to exceed three years. CPR courses must include an on-site instructor-based skills assessment that shall be documented by the certified CPR instructor. Documentation of completion of the online course and on-site assessment must be maintained at the home and available for review by the licensing authority

During time of inspection, Child Care Regulation observed substitute did not have safe sleep/shaken baby training. TA-All child care personnel who work in a home that offers care to infants must have training regarding guidance on safe sleep practices, preventing shaken baby syndrome and abusive head trauma; recognition of signs and symptoms of shaken baby syndrome and abuse head trauma; strategies for coping with crying, fussing, or distraught child and the development and vulnerabilities of the brain in infancy in early childhood within 30 days of hire at the home. For child care personnel to satisfy this requirement the training must be accomplished through one of following methods: the Department's Health Safety and Nutrition course, Departments Safe Sleep course, or the Early Learning Floridas Safe Sleep Practices course. Documentation of training must be maintained on the Department's training transcript in the child care personnel record
