On January 8, 2025, the Office of Child Care Licensing (OCCL) received a complaint regarding allegations of not following child illness exclusion policies, incorrect staff-to-child ratio, incorrect combining of ages, improper discipline, inappropriate care of infants, and lack of respectful communication by staff. This complaint is substantiated for improper discipline, inappropriate care of infants, and lack of respectful communication by staff based on interviews of administration and staff members who stated they witnessed Staff #5 using inappropriate name calling and inappropriate or inadequate care of infants. There is no evidence to substantiate this complaint for not following illness exclusions policies based on a review of documentation and interviewing staff members and administration. Based on interviews of staff and documentation available, there is no evidence to substantiate this complaint for incorrect staff-to-child ratio or incorrect combining of age groups. Additional concerns noted were that neither staff nor child attendance records were documented for child care provided by the center during an evening event on November 22, 2024.
