Authorized staff shall complete training in medication safety and administration every year.
The licensing coordinator's review of five staff files indicated that none of the personnel authorized to administer medications received training in 2025, which is required to be completed annually. Corrective action: I was unaware that there was a new rule change in regards to the "Administering Medication" needing to be done yearly, or I would have definitely had myself and all staff take the training again. The day licensing came in and told me about this rule change, I went home and retook the course, as well as two of my FT staff. Certificates were put in files on June 28th, 2026. The two PT staff that will be returning next year, are currently working on redoing theirs. All certificates will be in files by June 12th, 2026. Moving forward, I now know this new rule and will have all staff, including myself, retake this yearly. This will be added to the "check list" in everyone's files.
