In addition to program managers, all child care staff who are responsible for the supervision of children, or who are necessary for the staff to child ratios, shall have on file documentation of completion of training in accordance with (b) below, which shall: Be completed within 90 days of the first date of employment.
The licensing coordinator's review of five staff files revealed that one staff did not complete 18 hours of professional development pursuant to the rules in effect during 2024. Additionally, one staff had not completed a minimum of 3 hours of professional development in a health and safety topic. Corrective action: Each staff member has now been issued a professional development check-in document depicting how many hours they've earned/need for the remainder of the year. We will continue to do this each year moving forward. The staff member without the required health and safety hours has already earned these hours for 2025 (see attached), and this specific category of required professional development has been added to the check-in document. Additionally, the staff member who did not earn all of their 18 hours in 2024 has already earned her required 12 hours for 2025, including health and safety hours. Documentation of this can be provided, if necessary.
