All center directors, agency administrators, site coordinators, or site directors, and all other child care staff who are responsible for the supervision of children, or who are necessary for the staff to child ratios, shall keep on file documentation of completion of a minimum of 6 hours of professional development, which shall be completed in accordance with the following: (1)  Within 90 days of the first date of employment; (2) Within 2 weeks for programs operating 3 months of the year or less; or (3) By providing documentation of previous completion.

The licensing coordinator's review of five staff files revealed that two staff had not completed the required health and safety trainings within 90 days of hire, and two staff had not completed the required annual professional development. One staff completed five of the 12 hours required and one staff completed 13.25 of the 18 hours required, based upon their individual requirements. Corrective action: The two staff members who did not complete the initial health and safety trainings have been working to meet this requirement. One staff member has already earned six hours of these trainings and uploaded them to NH Connections, and the other has completed three hours. They are continuing to complete these trainings, and will do so before December 1st to ensure that the department has all necessary documentation for our licensing renewal (for which the deadline is 12/31/24). Additionally, the two staff members who did not earn their annual professional development hours have been working to do so via ProSolutions. The staff member who has earned the six hours of health and safety trainings is one of these individuals who hasn’t earned their annual hours, so they now have a total of 11 hours. This only leaves one remaining hour to meet the minimum requirement of 12 hours, however once they complete all of the health and safety trainings prior to December 1st, they will surpass this. The other staff member, who has only earned 13.25 hours thus far, has been assigned specific courses on ProSolutions and will earn the remaining amount prior to December 1st.
