Prior to employment or residency, as applicable, and every 5 years thereafter, all child care staff, substitutes, other employees, and volunteers who may be alone with children or are included in staff to child ratios, and household members age 10 years or older, shall submit for a background record check using NH Connections.
The licensing coordinator observed one staff working in the program who had not been determined eligible by the Unit. Corrective action: 1. Effective 2/28/24, the employee has completed and mailed the state of NH and FL background check request forms to Childcare Licensing. 2. We have recently transitioned from our paper system to ProCare. Effective today, 3/4/24, custom fields have been added to the staff management to include "background check date" as well as other important dates such as "last physical" to ensure future compliance. 3. The citation has been corrected effective 3/4/24 4. The employee was sent home on 2/28/24 and will not return until notification through NHCIS is received that the background check has fully cleared.
