Upon arrival of inspection, Licensing Specialist did not observe the gate secured at the bottom of the first floor steps while the Provider was on a different floor preparing food. Corrected during inspection. Provider secured the gate during the inspection.
Licensing Specialist observed the child proof device no longer operable on the laundry room door.
Licensing Specialist observed cleaning/gardening solution, a barbecue fork and tong, gardening tools, a shovel, and rake accessible to children. Provider stated they do not go to this area.
Licensing Specialist observed the television on for the duration of the inspection. One school age child was on her cell phone for the majority of the inspection.

Licensing Specialist observed a Fire Report posted that expired July 30, 2022. Provider called the Fire Department recently as she already requested and paid for her fire inspection last year, but they did not come out to inspect. Provider called the number she was asked to call by the Fire Department during the inspection and did not receive an answer. Provider left a voicemail stating that she is having her inspection and needs her Fire Report.

Licensing Specialist observed an insect repellant candle under a table on the ground, no gate at the top of the basement steps, and the first concrete step in disrepair.
Licensing Specialist did not observe an approved Emergency and Disaster Plan for the child care home.
Licensing Specialist was not able to review the Emergency forms during the inspection. They were on the first level of the home. LS asked the Provider if she would like to take the children to the first floor to retrieve the items then return to the basement, but she stated this would be difficult for one specific infant.
