Equipment and Materials
The educator has one plastic slide that is higher than 18 inches in height (19 inches). We discussed that she would need to install proper ground cover that meet the fall zone requirements per consumer product safety commission such as rubber mats or playground mulch or remove it. A copy of the Outdoor Home Safety Playground Handbook will be sent by email for the educator to review.
We discussed to acquire and install a variety of toys for active outdoor play. The educator only has one plastic slide.
We discussed to barricade and/or repair the following hazards: prevent access to two rock walls with a small wooden decorative bridge, fire pit, readjust the uneven stones to create a safe step/walkway from the deck and when leaving the backyard leading to the driveway area, install a safety lock on the gate facing the steep hill/rock wall area, install a fence to prevent access to the front yard and drop off wall, and place a cover over protruding pipes on the deck.

We discussed to repair the space in between the railings for the front entrance since it cannot be wider than 3 1/2 inches for the front entrance stairs and landing.

There was some peeling paint on the ceiling of the living room in need of repair. Please complete the Peeling Paint Compliance Statement when reparis are done.

We discussed that the hot water temperature cannot be more than 120 degrees Fahrenheit; currently about 150 degrees Fahrenheit.
The educator has a wooden playground structure with attached swings and slides. We discussed the regulations that she will need to install 9 inches deep of playground mulch and extend the mulch area to 6 feet all around the equipment and the space in between the railings on the top cannot be wider than 3 1/2 inches or she may prevent access to the playground by removing or barricading the swings, slide and climbing area. A copy of the Home Outdoor Safety Playground Handbook will be sent by email for the educator to review.
