The educator is not completing progress reports for the children as required by EEC regulations. Written progress reports must be completed every three months for infants and children with special needs, every six months for toddlers and preschoolers, and once a year for school aged children (5 years and older).
Allergy list posted is missing children who must be listed. Allergy list is missing notification and location of [REDACTED]. All children with allergies are missing Individual Health Care Plans and EEC required Medication Administration forms.
The educator was caring for 7 children at the time of the visit. The children were aged one (3 children) and two (4 children) years old. None of the children enrolled are 5 years old or older. The license for 8 capacity includes a condition that at least 2 of the children in attendance must be school aged.

Space - Toxic Substances
Pellet stove in the living room is surrounded by an attached gate. Toy shelf with bins in the toy room was not secured to the wall and poses a tipping hazard.
Indoor Space - free of hazards
Cleaning supplies are located on a high shelf in the toy room and on a high shelf in a closet across from the bathroom. No supplies located under the kitchen sink. Knife block is out of reach of children. Observed a junk drawer in the kitchen containing hazards, such as a wrench, that was not locked.
Progress Reports
Discussed the required 12 Essential Strong Start trainings. Educator has not taken the trainings and did not have 30 hours of professional development for this licensing cycle available for review. Educator must email copies of a total of 30 hours worth of certificates to the licensor.
Pellet stove in the living room has a metal gate in front of it, but the sides are open making the stove accessible to children. Stove is used during daycare hours.

Ongoing Professional Development
Lotions and cosmetic creams located on the back of the toilet are accessible to children. Junk drawer in the kitchen with scissors, cords, etc. is not locked. Large flat screen television in the living room is not secured to the wall or furniture and poses a tipping hazard. Cabinet under the kitchen sink is not locked and contains hazards. Toys shelf with bins in the toy room is not secured. Two grills on the back deck are uncovered. Large fire pit is uncovered. Above ground pool with deck stairs does not have a gate at the bottom.Gate at the top of the pool stairs is not locked. Pool chemicals and a screwdriver are accessible on the ground next to the pool.
Educator has a her own contract with information regarding sick policy, hours of operation, holidays, payment /fees, termination, late arrival and pick up policy, meals/snacks, etc. Educator does not have a parent handbook with EEC required information such as plan for meeting potential emergencies, mandated reporting,etc. Educator will need to fill out the EEC Parent Handbook and email a completed copy to licensor for review.
First Aid Kit
Exit sign on the sliding door in the kitchen is not secure and fell off twice during the visit. Discussed making exit signs more visible. A written emergency plan is posted inside a closet door, but parents are not given a copy.
Evacuation drill log is complete up to August. Required information regarding the drill is missing from educator's log. Drills must be conducted and recorded on a monthly basis.
First aid kit is missing instant cold packs, roller bandage and emergency contact information for the children. Discussed adding the emergency card page from the enrollment packet to the kit.
