Family childcare educators working more than 10 hours per week must complete at least 10 hours of professional development annually, with one-third focused on diverse learners. The educator has completed a variety of professional development courses.
The licensor reviewed the children’s records and noted that the annual update forms and yearly physicals were missing.

The educator was not operating within her licensed capacity. Licensed capacity is eight with a condition that two of the children are school age. There were seven children under the age of five present at the time of the visit. According to records reviewed, the educator has been operating above her capacity on Mondays and Wednesdays since 9/12/23.

The educator provided false and misleading information to the licensor when the licensor specifically asked if there was a child crying on the second or third floor of the home. The licensee replied that there were no additional children in the home besides the six that were on the first-floor level upon the licensor's arrival. The licensor later found the crying child hidden in a room on the third-floor level. There was an unapproved person with the child in the unlicensed room.
The educator was not responsive to one child's individual needs while the child was crying during the visit. The child was crying and screaming on the third floor of the home while the educator was on the first floor.
The educator did not recognize the signs of stress in the child's behavior and did not respond with appropriate stress-reducing activities while the child was crying on the third-floor level of the home.

Educator is piling up the napping materials in the bathroom shower. All the nap materials are touching each other.
At the time of the visit there was a strong smell coming out from the basement and downstairs bathroom. Licensor could not tell what the foul odor was. Bathroom cabinet locker is not working and the cleaning supplies stored inside are accessible to children
