Fenced in play space in the yard as well as the back deck are used with the children. Observed random debris (i.e., an empty soda box), sticks and piles of leaves on the deck mixed in with the children's toys. Three large containers of ice melt were also accessible on the deck. A broken side table with pieces of torn plastic sticking out the top was also observed to be accessible. The attached gate at the top of the deck stairs leads to the street and not directly into the fenced in play space. The gate does not latch. Discussed the educator installing a gate that can be latched and locked to prevent children access.
