Exit Safety - 1
During the visit, it was observed that the second exit had black material around the frame, which the educator stated was intended to prevent cold air from entering the building. However, when attempting to open the door, it was stuck and could not be opened.

There were several outlets in the basement space that were uncovered.
The trash in the basement bathroom needs to have a cover. There is an elliptical exercise machine that needs to be covered, as it is accessible to the children.
The stairs to the first floor need to be gated whenever children under 3 years old are present. A railing needs to be installed along the wall of the stairway, if it will be used as an exit.
Progress reports were reviewed for the 5 enrolled children; one child did not have proof of a progress report.
The educator did not have documentation of the evacuation drill for the month of January 2025.
The first aid kit was missing an emergency card for one enrolled child.

Records were reviewed for the 5 enrolled children. One child’s records was missing two signatures in the enrollment packet (Acknowledgment of Receipt of Parent Handbook and General Permission section)
There were 2 drawers in the bathroom that had hazards in them accessible to the children (perfumes, cords longer than 6 inches, etc.)
There is some developmentally appropriate materials, but not enough for the two older children.

Equipment and Materials
The Educator did not have all the children listed on the attendance records, as required. Additionally, the time of departure was filled in for the day of the visit.
There was a trash can in the playroom that did not have a cover. In the outdoor space, there was a gas grill uncovered and accessible to the children.
The Educator has a routine, however she does not have proof of a specific curriculum.
