One child requires an IHCP. The educator was reminded to maintain a plan on file outlining the child’s condition and treatment, and to keep a backup medication on site. The IHCP policy was emailed to the educator.
One child requires emergency medication. The licensor emailed a sample form and reminded the educator to post a covered list of food restrictions and emergency medications, clearly labeled for each child to ensure privacy.
Two slides more than 18 inches in height require a fall zone. It was discussed with the applicant that any items taller than 18 inches necessitate a fall zone. The fall zone must have six feet of clearance around the equipment and at least nine inches of loose-fill material, such as mulch, sand, rubber mulch, or any other fall zone material, to prevent injury from falls.
During the renewal visit, the licensor observed two slides that were more than 18 inches in height in the educator's outdoor play space.

Space (indoor / outdoor hazards) - 1
For the outdoor space we discussed to barricade the following: piles of stones, cylinder blocks, bricks and the area used as a fire pit to burn branches. In addition we discussed to repair the peeling paint on the stairs and landing of the deck. Please complete the peeling paint compliance statement form. For the indoor space we discussed to secure a toy shelf.
