On the afternoon of April 28, 2026, a child enrolled at the licensed childcare center was left unattended on the program’s transportation bus following the scheduled drop-off. The child was discovered only after the child’s grandparent contacted the center to request a change in the child’s pick-up and drop-off arrangements. At the time the child was located, the child was not under direct supervision as required by licensing standards. The center reported did not report this incident to the Department of Child Services (DCS), despite mandatory reporting requirements for any incident involving a lapse in supervision or a child being left unattended in a vehicle. Failure to report the incident constitutes noncompliance with required reporting and supervision regulations intended to ensure child safety.
