Provider's Policies <b>Citation</b><br/> §17-891.2-11(a)(15) Family child care home policies shall include: Suspension and expulsion of children<br/> <br/> <b>Findings</b><br/> The facility provided Child 1's family a 30 day written notice for termination of child care services. Parent 1 signed and dated the notice. Primary Caregiver reported that there were discussions of terminating services amongst herself and her family, and not with the Parent 1 and Parent 2. Parent 1 and Parent 2 were not provided written notification of any concerns that could lead to a child's expulsion. The facility's Operation Policies does not include conditions under which a child may be suspended or expelled, and conditions that may warrant immediate expulsion.<br/> <br/> <b>Corrective actions and recommendations</b><br/> The Primary Caregiver complete a training offered from Texas A&M AgriLife Extension entitled "Effective Communication Strategies Guidance". Additionally, the facility shall update the Operation Policies to include conditions under which a child may be suspended or expelled, and conditions that may warrant immediate expulsion. The training and policy update shall be completed by January 31, 2025. Regular license will be replaced with a provisional license till January 31, 2025.<br/> <br/> The CCL Worker recommends to communicate with families about any concerns. And to clearly and promptly provide families written notification of any concerns that could lead to their child's expulsion.<br/>
