On July 29, 2024, the Office of Child Care Licensing (OCCL) received a complaint regarding improper discipline. An investigation began on August 19, 2024, and concluded on September 5, 2024. Based on interviews conducted and documents reviewed, this complaint is substantiated for improper discipline because staff stated they observed a staff member grab a child s arm. Additional concerns noted at the visit were that Staff #1 was re-hired after having been inactivated as an employee in August 2022 but did not complete a new criminal background check before re-starting employment. Secondly, center staff observed and were told by a child that a staff member had grabbed their arm, but a report was not made to the Child Abuse and Neglect Report Line. An additional concern noted was that the parent was not provided with a written incident report as required.
