Ensure truthful information is always provided. The Provider stated she informed OCCL that four children were disenrolled, effective 8/31/2024, to avoid submitting corrections. This was corrected at the visit when the Provider notified OCCL that some of those children were still enrolled.
The Office of Child Care Licensing (OCCL) received a complaint on March 26, 2024, regarding attendance records, lack of supervision, and being over capacity. An investigation was conducted on March 28, 2024. The complaint is substantiated for lack of supervision because Ms. Miller admitted to allowing three children to go outside while she watched them from the kitchen window. This complaint is substantiated for being over capacity because Ms. Miller stated that on March 25, 2024, she was caring for nine children preschool-age and younger in her home, which is over her allowed capacity. This complaint is substantiated for attendance records because Ms. Miller was unable to produce any attendance records, including for the date of the investigation visit. Non-compliance Cited: Reg #13: Ensure all children in care are supervised at all times. While completing an inspection, another State agency reported three children exited the home to play outside while Ms. Miller remained inside. Ms. Miller confirmed this statement and stated she watched the children from the kitchen window. Non-compliance Cited: Reg # 27: Maintain accurate attendance records, documenting exact arrival and departure of each child daily. According to another State agency, attendance records submitted to them were inaccurate. Upon arrival for this complaint visit, attendance was not completed for children present and when asked for records from 3/18/2024 to present, Ms. Miller was unable to produce them. Submit attendance records from 3/18/2024 4/11/2024. Non-compliance Cited: Reg # 57: Ensure maximum capacity is not exceeded at any time. According to another State agency, nine children, preschool-age and younger were observed in the home on March 25, 2024. Ms. Miller confirmed this statement. Ensure screen time is limited to no more than one hour per day. LS Brey observed the television on upon arrival at the home at 9:00am. The television remained on until 10:30am. This was corrected at the visit when LS Brey asked the Provider to turn it off and the Provider complied.

Upon arrival, two school-age children were observed outside, unsupervised. This was corrected when discussed with the licensee and she agreed to comply. Ensure children are not responsible for child care duties. Child #13 was observed caring for two infants. This was corrected when discussed with the licensee and she agreed to comply.
